Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. ~ 1 Timothy 4.12
In the Parishes of New Carlisle and Chaleur Bay we strive to be welcoming and supportive of the young people in our communities, and to provide training and resources for the next generation of Anglicans to learn about their faith, to grow closer in their walk with God, and to come to "the full measure of the stature of Christ."
Our parishes are currently without a Sunday School program. Parents, or others interested in assisting in getting a Sunday School going, or some other form of Christian formation for children & youth, should contact the Rector at 418.752.3227 or get in touch by email at jpaetkau@quebec.anglican.ca
On Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM the GreenHat group meets at St. Andrew's Anglican church. This is an intergenerational group that works in the area of computer literacy and awareness. The activities range from the hands on - taking apart computers and learning how they work, tutorials in how to use different programs and software, learning how to program your own machines - to reflecting on how to stay safe online, and reflecting more broadly on ethical issues in the digital realm. This includes issues such as privacy, cyberbullying, misinformation, and more.
A vibrant ministry to the young people of our parishes depends on the prayer, support, and involvement of people from every generation. Members of churches, and others in the community are encouraged to share their support, ideas, and concerns with the Rector, the Rev. Joshua Paetkau. He may be reached by telephone at #418.752.3227 or by email at jpaetkau@quebec.anglican.ca
